Privacy Policy
Last updated 16 August 2026
This policy explains how information is handled on this website. It covers the website only. Information shared once you become a client — session notes, assessments, and clinical records — is governed separately by the professional and ethical obligations Kayla McLachlan, M.C. holds as a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists, and is explained directly with you before therapy begins.
What this website collects
Only what you type into the contact form: your name, your email address, and your message. Nothing else is requested, and there are no other forms on the site.
No cookies, analytics, or tracking
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads no third-party scripts, advertising pixels, or social media trackers. Your visit is not profiled, and you are not followed across other websites. There is no cookie banner because there are no cookies to consent to.
How your message is handled
When you submit the form, your name, email address, and message are sent by email to Kayla McLachlan, M.C. so she can reply. Delivery is handled by Resend, an email service provider that processes the message solely to deliver it. Your message is not added to a mailing list, shared, sold, or used for marketing.
The website is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, its servers keep short-term technical logs of requests — including IP addresses — for security and reliability. The contents of your message are deliberately never written to those logs.
Please keep your first message general
Email and web forms are convenient but not fully secure, and a message can be seen in transit or on a shared device. Please avoid including detailed personal, medical, or sensitive information in your first message. A sentence about what you are looking for is enough — you will move to a secure channel once you connect.
How long information is kept
Enquiry emails are retained only as long as needed to respond and to keep a record of the enquiry, and are deleted when no longer required. If you ask for your enquiry to be deleted, it will be.
Your rights
Under Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), you may ask what personal information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for it to be deleted. To make a request, or if you have any question about this policy, email info@kaylamcounselling.com or call (825) 522-4401.
Changes to this policy
If how this website handles information changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it.
